Pet Stain Removal

If you have a new pet, then you will probably get a few stains here and there on your carpets. Even potty trained pets have accidents, drag in mud, or simply spill things on a regular basis. The idea is to be prepared.
If the stain is a potty stain, then you should work to get the smell out immediately. Even if you can’t smell anything, your pet will be able to find that spot easily and will continue to use that spot as a bathroom until the smell is gone.
Couch cushions and clothes can be easily washed in the washing machine, though I would recommend adding a box of baking soda along with your regular detergent. This will get the smell out and will clean the items well.
If you’re dealing with a carpet spot, then you need a cleaner specifically designed to get out pet odors. Many people use Resolve’s pet cleaner on these spots, and others rave about Out! Pet Odor Eliminator for their carpets. I personally use Out!, though I have a bottle of Resolve just in case.
If you need more tips, the Human Society has a whole section on their website dealing with pet stain removal. So check it out!
